Mr. Maggi began his service to CAS in November 1998 when he was the Washington County Sheriff, and chose to continue service when he was elected Commissioner in 2003. He currently serves as the Chairperson of the Washington County Board of Commissioners.
Mr. Slagle has been a dedicated CAS Board member since July of 2009. He has worked for PNC Financial Services for 13 years, Citizens Bank and most recently First Federal Savings Bank for the last 7 years, and holds a degree in Economics from Allegheny College.
Mr. Slagle is currently the Owner and President of Commercial Funding Solutions, Inc.
Mr. Lucas has served on the CAS Board since 2007 and is a member of the Personnel Committee. For nineteen years, Mr. Lucas was an associate with the law firm of Bassi, McCune & Vreeland, P.C. He served as an Assistant District Attorney in Washington County where he has practiced law since he entered the bar in 1992. He was elected to the Washington County Court of Common Pleas on November 5, 2013.
Mr. Lucas attended Washington & Jefferson College and obtained his law degree from Duquesne University where he served on the Law Review. His volunteer community activities also include a strong commitment to providing pro bono services for the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh and several other organizations.
Blair Zimmerman is the secretary of the Greene County Board of Commissioners. Currently in his first term in office, Commissioner Zimmerman was appointed in December 2012. In addition to Community Action Southwest, he is a member of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission. Before his appointment, Commissioner Zimmerman was the longtime mayor of Waynesburg Borough, and he recently retired from Cumberland Mine, where he worked as a coal miner for 41 years. He has been involved in the Waynesburg-Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Co., Habitat for Humanity, Relay For Life, and Greene County United Way, and is an avid runner and cyclist. Commissioner Zimmerman is a member of Washington Street United Methodist Church and lives in Waynesburg. He has three children and three grandchildren.
Mr. Shober was elected Washington County Commissioner in 2012 after a successful career in business and decades of service to his community. He joined the Community Action Southwest Board in 2015 and will serve on the Finance Committee.
Mr. Chaido has served on the CAS Board since September 2009, and is currently in his first term as President. He also serves as Chairperson of the Personnel Committee. He is also a former member and past chair of the CAS Head Start Policy Council. Mr. Chaido is the Chief Operating Officer for Washington Financial Bank.
Ms. Calderone has served on the CAS Board since September of 2010. Ms. Calderone is a retired teacher and early childhood education advocate. She currently works for the University of Pittsburgh as Early Childhood Intern Supervisor, and as an instructor in the Department of Instruction and Learning.
Ms. Takach is the Assistant Vice President/Business Banking Officer for Washington Financial Bank. She holds an undergraduate business degree from Robert Morris University and an M.B.A. from California University. Ms. Takach is also active in many other southwestern Pennsylvania organizations including the Washington County Community Foundation and the Washington County Chamber of Commerce. In 2010 she received the Outstanding Woman in Business Award from the Chamber. Born in West Mifflin,she and her husband live in Washington County.
Mr. Ward joined the CAS Board in January 2012 and serves on the CAS Finance Committee. Mr. Ward is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for The Washington Hospital where he oversees patient care services, information systems, human resources and regulatory affairs as well as other programs and initiatives.
Ms. Brodak joined the Blueprints board in 2017. She is the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and University Relations at Waynesburg University. Experienced in government and corporate affairs, Ms. Brodak has a broad background in communications, donor stewardship, government and community relations, corporate social responsibility, leadership and management for both the private and public sectors. She has served as the president of Washington County Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors and currently serves on the boards of the West Virginia Oil and Natural Gas Association, the Marcellus Shale Coalition and the ARC Human Services Foundation. Born in Carmichaels, Ms. Brodak lives in Washington, PA with her husband and son.
Mark began his CAS Board Service in 2015. He has been involved with CAS for several years, and serves as an example of hard work and perseverance to current CAS clients struggling to attain self-sufficiency. Mark successfully completed several CAS programs to improve his situation and is now employed as a driver for Waste Management.
Rev. Cherry is a Vietnam Vet (USMC), has a doctorate in Theology, and is active in the church and his community. His areas of interest include human services and seniors in Greene County. He’s served on CAS’ Board since 2016 and sits on the Community Services Committee.
Ms. Comfort began her CAS Board Service in 2016. She is a graduate of Penn Commercial, is employed by Redstone Pharmacy as a pharmacy tech and makes her home in Ellsworth, PA.
Ms. Kincade began her CAS Board Service in 2016. She is a member of Head Start Policy Council and lives in Brownsville, PA.
Mr. Tencer joined the CAS board in 2017 and serves on the CAS Personnel Committee. He and his wife of 22 years, Tracy, are current CAS foster parents, and have adopted four children from CAS’ foster care and adoption programs. The family will welcome their fifth child through adoption in the next few months. Mr. Tencer is the Distribution/Planning Supervisor at Coca-Cola Refreshments, and lives in Upper Saint Clair, PA.
