Family Economic Success is at the forefront of Community Action Southwest’s mission as its programming is designed to support and empower residents to attain and maintain economic self-sufficiency.
Family Economic Success implements its wide array of programming through components including the Community Action WORKS initiative, the Financial Capabilities Center and the Home Ownership Center. These components exist to motivate and support residents to increase their household income through gainful employment and manage it in an effort to acquire assets, including home ownership.
Community Action WORKS serves hundreds of local residents each year through education and skill building. The initiative offers a variety of programs designed to change people’s lives and to help them sustain those changes over time.

The Financial Capabilities Center was established in 2011 as a means to provide comprehensive and specialized services to help Washington County residents develop the skills and abilities needed to attain and maintain financial independence and acquire assets.

The Home Ownership Center was established in 2013 to assist residents to achieve and sustain the “American Dream.” The center assists first-time homebuyers, homeowners who may be facing foreclosure and residents in need of rental and/or utility assistance. Community Action Southwest is a HUD-Certified Local Housing Counseling Agency that has been assisting clients with varying housing needs since the 1980’s.
